Our take: Strong airline lounges, uneven Priority Pass
- Best premium option: The Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse is one of the best business-class lounges anywhere, with an outdoor garden and many distinct seating areas—walk the full space before settling in. In Terminal 3, Cathay Pacific First is the best oneworld choice, with sit-down dining and tarmac views.
- Terminal 4: Qatar Airways Premium Lounge has high-quality à la carte dining, a premium buffet, and showers. The nearby Frequent Flyer lounge is solid but a step down.
- AmEx Centurion: The Centurion Lounge in Terminal 3 is a full-service, US-style Centurion with showers, but it does not match Heathrow’s top airline lounges.
- Priority Pass: Plaza Premium Terminal 4 is the best Terminal 4 option, with mostly made-to-order food; in Terminal 5, Plaza Premium beats Club Aspire but often gets crowded. Terminal 3’s No1 Lounge is basic but the best bet there if Priority Pass is your only access.
- British Airways in Terminal 5: Choose Galleries Club South over North: it is larger and usually less crowded. The 5B lounge is mediocre and only makes sense for departures from 5B or 5C.
