Privacy Policy

Last updated December 31, 2024.

Thanks for reviewing our Privacy Policy! We're excited to provide high-quality services that respect your data, whether you're looking for a new place at the airport to relax or want to dive in and become a lounge travel junkie. We want to do that safely, thoughtfully, and in a way that respects you and your personal information.

We protect your privacy through compliance with this Privacy Policy. This policy is a legal document, so we want to clarify that —

  • We'll refer to ourselves, This Lounge LLC, as ThisLounge, "we", "us", or "our" throughout this policy.
  • We'll refer to our Website, including any mobile or desktop versions we have, as our "Website".
  • When you use the Website to do anything, including to browse lounges or to save visited lounges, or when we otherwise provide you with any service (including through other platforms), we refer to that as using our "Services".

In this policy, we'll discuss how we collect, use, maintain, disclose, and — most importantly — protect the information you share with ThisLounge.

This policy doesn't apply to information that's collected by any third party, including through any website, link, advertisement, or page that you might visit from our Website. We can't control what other people do, so we can't be responsible for their privacy practices.

This policy applies to anything you do on our Website and any of the ways you use our Services. By using our Website or Services, you agree to this policy and understand our practices. If you don't agree with our policies and practices, you shouldn't use our Website or Services.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

If we make any changes to our Privacy Policy, we'll update this page. The date at the top is when we last changed our policy. We'll try to give a reasonable notice period when we change our policy, but unless we specifically say otherwise, the revised policy is effective immediately when we post it. If you keep using our Website or Services after we make changes to the policy, you're agreeing to those changes.

Children's Privacy

Our Website and Services isn't for users under the age of 18. If you're under 18, you shouldn't use our Website or Services or share any personal information with us. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we find out that we've collected personal information from someone under 18, we'll delete it. If you're a parent or guardian and you think we've collected personal information from your child, please contact us at [email protected] so we can delete it.

1. Information We Collect About You and How We Collect It

Information You Provide to Us

If you use our Website, we'll collect information you share with us directly. If you use our Services through a partner or third-party platform and you share with them your information in order to use our Services, we'll also collect that.

You can provide us with

  • Personal Information. This is information that identifies you as an individual, like your name, phone number, or email.
  • Non-personal Information. This is information that doesn't directly identify you, like information in your web browser, information collected through cookies, pixel tags, and other technologies, demographic information, or other similar information you provide.

We don't collect Personal Information automatically, but we might connect any information you do provide us with information we get from other sources. For example, if you send us an email, we might connect your email address with your account.

Information We Collect Automatically

If you use our Website, we'll also collect Non-personal Information automatically. This is standard practice for most websites on the Internet, and includes the use of technologies like cookies, local storage, pixel tags, web beacons, and more. By using our Website, you're agreeing to our use of these technologies.

As you interact with our Website, including when you click around and visit pages of interest, we use automatic data collection technologies to collect information about your device and what you're browsing. This includes things like

  • Details of your visits to our Website, like traffic data, location data, logs, and other communication data.
  • Information about your computer and internet connection, like your IP address, operating system, and browser type.

Your IP address is an identifier that's generally assigned to you by your Internet provider or mobile carrier. Just like the vast majority of websites, we collect this automatically along with the time of your visit and what pages you're visiting. Since your IP address is often assigned to you specifically, we treat it as Personal Information.

In general, we use information we collect automatically to help us understand how our Website is being used, diagnose server problems, determine where our users are accessing our Services from, and more. Unless we say otherwise, information we collect automatically is generally considered Non-personal Information (except when we're required to do otherwise by law) and we treat it as such. When we do collect Personal information automatically, we'll treat it as Personal Information.

Technologies We Use

Like the vast majority of websites, we collect information automatically in a variety of ways, including:

  • Cookies. We may place small bits of data on your computer through a browser cookie or local storage (we call all of these Cookies). This lets us track your usage and save settings and preferences. For example, when you search for lounges on ThisLounge, we might use Cookies to save the filters and preferences on your search. Our Website automatically places Cookies and, although you can configure your device to refuse cookies, you might not be able to use our Website properly without them.
  • Analytics Services. We use Google Analytics (which is a third-party analytics platform provided by Google LLC) and other similar third-party services (we call all of these Analytics Services) to collect information about how you and others are using our Website. We use this information to improve our Website and Services. You can learn more about how Google uses your information by visiting Google's Privacy & Terms.
  • Pixels. We may use pixels, which are small blocks of code included on our Website and our email communications, to track your use of our Services. For example, as is common in the industry, code included in emails we send you can tell us whether you've opened the email.

Information Obtained from Third Parties

This policy doesn't address the privacy, information, or practices of any third party we don't control. This includes any third party that operates a site that we link to or that has a widget on our site. The fact that we link to a site doesn't mean we endorse it or its privacy practices.

Our Website may include social media features, like a Facebook "Like" button. These features are provided by third parties (for example, Facebook) and are subject to the privacy policy of the company providing them. Your interactions with these features are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing it.

2. Data Security

The safety of your Personal Information is really important to us. We've implemented systems, strategies, and technical measures designed to protect it from accidental loss, unauthorized access, or unwanted disclosure.

All the information you provide us is stored on servers that are secure and access-controlled. All pages you visit on our Website are encrypted with HTTPS/SSL technology. We require you to log into your account before you can access any Personal Information you've previously provided.

Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet or data storage system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Although we do our best to protect your Personal Information, we can't guarantee its security. Any transmission of Personal Information is at your own risk. We're not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures on the Website. For example, if your email account is hacked and someone gets access to your email, they might be able to access your account with us.

Important Steps You Can Take

There are lots of reasonable and simple safety measures you can take to protect your information. For example,

  • Keep your email account and mobile phone secure and restrict access to them.
  • Don't share your password with anyone.
  • Be aware of fraudulent emails and texts known as "phishing" from companies claiming to be ThisLounge and requesting your login information or other information. We'll never ask you for your login information in an email or text message.
  • When you're done using our Website, log out completely. This is especially important if you use a computer that's accessed by other people, like in a library.

If you think your account has been hacked, or if you think your Personal Information might not be secure anymore, please let us know right away by contacting us.

3. How We Use Your Information

In general, we use information you provide or we collect to provide you our Services. For example, we'll use your information for

  • Creating and maintaining your account.
  • Helping you brag about how many lounges you've visited to your friends.
  • Responding to your text messages, emails, or requests for more information.
  • Informing you of changes to our Website, including adjustments to our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and other policies.
  • Asking your opinion about our Website and its content with occasional surveys.
  • Personalizing your experience with content, offers, or other information we think might be helpful or interesting to you.
  • Sending you marketing communications, newsletters, surveys, and requests for feedback about your experience.
  • Allowing you to share content and information with a friend or through third-party platforms like social media.
  • Improving our customer experience by analyzing usage data, trends, and preferences.
  • Protecting our Website and our users from fraud, unauthorized access, or other illegal activities.
  • Complying with any legal obligations we have, including responding to court orders or legal investigations, or complying with audits or other investigations.

4. How We Share Your Information

For Our Services

We share your Personal Information with employees, vendors, partners, marketing providers, and third parties as required to offer the Services.

With Your Consent

Sometimes, you specifically want us to share your Personal Information. For example,

  • If you use a sharing feature on our Website, like a Facebook "Like" button, we'll share your information with anyone or any third party you request to be connected with.
  • If we offer a public profile page, and you enable that feature, we'll share your information with anyone who visits your profile page.

We're not responsible for how these third parties use your Personal Information. We recommend you review their privacy policies to understand how they use your information. Also, while we do our best to make sure that your information is only shared with the people you want it to be shared with, we can't guarantee that no one else will access it. We're not responsible for the use or disclosure of your Personal Information by others.

With Our Service Providers

Other times, we engage third-party companies to help us provide our Services. These companies might include marketing providers, billing and collection providers, auditing and accounting firms, professional services consultants, providers of analytics services, security vendors, and IT vendors. They might provide a variety of services, like providing customer service or helping us understand how our Website is being used.

Occasionally, these service providers might also collect data directly from you, and their privacy policies might also apply. We make it clear when this is the case.

When we work with third-party companies, we require them to protect your Personal Information and only use it for the purposes we specify. We don't allow them to use your Personal Information for their own purposes. We may share with them aggregated and anonymized data sets that don't include any personally identifiable information.

As Required by Law

We might also share your Personal Information when we believe it's necessary to comply with the law, protect our rights, or prevent fraud or criminal activity. For example, we might share your information with law enforcement or other government agencies if we're required to do so by law.

We may share your Personal Information when we believe to be necessary or appropriate to perform our Services: (a) under applicable law, including laws outside your country of residence; (b) to comply with legal process; (c) to respond to requests from public and government authorities including public and government authorities outside your country of residence; (d) to enforce our terms and conditions; (e) to protect our operations or those of any of our affiliates; (f) to protect our rights, privacy, safety or property, and/or that of our affiliates, you or others; and (g) to allow us to pursue available remedies or limit the damages that we may sustain.

5. Your Options About How We Use and Disclose Your Information

Deleting Your Information

If you've submitted or provided your Personal Information to us and you want us to remove it from our database, send an email to [email protected] with subject line "Delete My Information".

We'll use reasonable efforts to remove your Personal Information from our systems, unless we're legally required to retain it or need to retain it to fulfill our Services.

In all cases, if you ask us to delete your Personal Information, we won't use it for any further purposes, nor sell or share it with third parties, except as necessary to prevent fraud and assist law enforcement, as required by law, or in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
