Our take: Good top-end choices, weak United Club backup

Best premium option: United Polaris Lounge is still the strongest reviewed lounge at IAD, with showers and a good overall read, though it is not one of the best Polaris locations.
Main concourse: Capital One Lounge is a strong all-around stop just past main security, especially for food, drinks, and grab-and-go. It gets busy, so join the waitlist early.
Chase Sapphire: Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club with Etihad Airways is an excellent Priority Pass option with made-to-order food, but it is smaller than the best Chase lounges and waits are possible.
Priority Pass: Chase is the useful lounge pick here. Air France/KLM is just okay and crowded, Turkish is small and crowded, and Virgin is also small with non-complimentary food during Priority Pass hours.
Weak spots: The United Clubs in C and D rate poorly, so use them mainly for proximity. The Lufthansa lounges are temporarily closed for renovation from October 2025 through the end of 2026.
