Our take: Cathay dominates the lounge field
- First-class standouts: Cathay Pacific The Pier First Class Lounge is HKG's top lounge, with sit-down dining, daybeds, and showers near Gate 63. The Wing First Class is also excellent near security, but temporary access is limited to Cathay Diamond elites and Cathay First passengers.
- Business-class oneworld: The Pier Business Class Lounge is the best oneworld business-class pick if you have time to reach the West Hall. The train helps on the way out, but not back, so budget the walk.
- AmEx and Star Alliance: AmEx Centurion Lounge is a real full-service Centurion near Gate 60, with showers and a stronger feel than many outstation card lounges. For Star Alliance, Singapore Airlines SilverKris Business Class Lounge beats the United Club if your access works.
- Priority Pass: Traditional Priority Pass choices are more useful than special. Kyra Lounge (Gate 23) is the pick over the similar Plaza Premium lounges; Kyra Lounge (Gate 40) has decent food, but the layout can be frustrating.
